Residents from Daffodil Lodge and Marina Care Home were treated to an unforgettable experience as they enjoyed a VIP visit to see the iconic supersonic plane, the British Airways Concorde, at Runway Park in Manchester.
During the visit, the residents had the unique opportunity to step inside the historic aircraft, where they sat in its iconic seats and listened to a knowledgeable tour guide share fascinating insights about the history of the Concorde. The tour provided a glimpse into the remarkable journey of the Concorde, and residents had the chance to capture precious memories through photographs taken on-site.
One resident’s joy was particularly heartwarming, as she had the chance to sit in the same chair where the late Queen had once sat. This special moment was shared with one of our gentlemen’s family, creating a treasured memory that will be cherished for years to come.
The residents and staff of Daffodil Lodge and Marina Care Home extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Runway Park for their warm hospitality and exceptional service. The experience provided an opportunity for seniors to relive a piece of history and create lasting memories.
In a heartwarming gesture, the tour guide and a colleague have announced their plans to reciprocate the kindness by visiting the care homes in Southport. They will be offering an engaging talk about the Concorde, bringing the excitement and knowledge from the runway to the residents’ doorstep.
